Description

Research is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 24 kilometres (15 mi) north-east from Melbourne's Central Business District. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Nillumbik. At the 2011 Census, Research had a population of 2,637. Areas with unmade (dirt) roads and unsewered homes on large land blocks (1 to 35 acres) still exist south of Main Road in Research. This area has one of the highest bushfire risks in Australia, due to prolific Eucalyptus and wattle trees.
