The suburb is immediately to the north of Coogee, which takes its name from the lake, Lake Coogee, in the area, North Coogee is located 4 km south of Fremantle, and is bounded by the municipal boundary of the City of Fremantle to the north, Cockburn Road/Beeliar Regional Park to the east, Powell Road to the south and Cockburn Sound to the west.
